Q. What are the opening hours of Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living?
The offices of Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living are open between the hours of 9.00AM and 5.00PM, Monday to Thursday and 9.00AM and 4.30PM on Friday.

Q. Who can use the Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living Transport Service?
The Transport Service can be used by people in the local area with disabilities and/or mobility issues for whom public transport is not accessible who wish to get to appointments.

Q. How does a person arrange transport?
Transport can be booked by calling the Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living office on (01) 827 0609 or by e-mail to maintenance@bcil.ie <mailto:maintenance@bcil.ie> the day before your travel time.  For bookings outside of this notice every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

Q. What days and times does Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living Transport Service operate?
The service operated five days per week and must be booked in advance by calling (01) 827 0609 or by e-mail to maintenance@bcil.ie <mailto:maintenance@bcil.ie>
We endeavor to meet all requests but may not always be able to facilitate.

Q. What areas does the Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living Transport cover?
All areas of Blanchardstown are covered. Requests for transport outside of the area may be provided depending on availability.

Q. Does the person with a disability have to be accompanied by another person?
This depends on the needs of the service user.

Q. How do I apply for a Personal Assistant Service?
Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living will send you an application form, once this form is completed and returned, it will be forwarded to the HSE Disability Services to apply for funding for a Personal Assistant Service. You will then be entered onto the HSE wait list for a service.

Q. What criteria are necessary to qualify for a Personal Assistant Service or to go on the HSE Disability wait list for a Personal Assistant Service?
Applicants must have either a physical and/or sensory disability and be aged between 18 and 65 (applicants older than 65 must apply for Home Help Services directly through the Home Help Department in the HSE)

Q. How long is the wait list?
The HSE will prioritise applicants according to their needs identified on the application form.  At present the HSE are advising that there is no new funding available to applicants.
